The proprietor of Bono’s Pit Bar-BQ is retiring, handing the reins over to a brand new era

On the age of eight, he was washing dishes and setting tables at his household’s upscale restaurant. He discovered the nuances and realities of hospitality by working his means from the kitchen to the entrance of the home after which administration.

At 27, he purchased a small barbecue restaurant in his hometown — launching what would develop into a nationwide chain that sparked a second multi-state barbecue idea in addition to seafood eating places and led to the addition of a gourmand Cookies bakery and catering enterprise.

Joe Adeeb III, greatest identified for taking Bono’s Pit Bar-BQ from two Jacksonville eating places to areas from Florida to the Rocky Mountains, is passing the torch after greater than 50 years within the hospitality business.

Adeeb, whose enterprise card bears the title “The Pit Boss,” formally retired on Jan. 1. He turns over the reins of Bono’s and the opposite eating places in his household’s House Crew restaurant group to its longtime president, Josh Martino.

Adeeb smiled when requested lately if he would really go away the restaurant and hospitality career that has been his life since childhood.

Adeeb replied: “Completely! My spouse deserves it (retirement)… and we’re in secure arms with Josh,” admitting that he’ll miss the individuals he labored with and met over time.
